Anthony Edwards demands comparisons to ‘GOAT’ Michael Jordan to stop
Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

During the regular season and the playoffs, Anthony Edwards has had an incredible journey. Every supporter in Minnesota and across the nation has been fascinated with his on-court style of play, some comparing him to the NBA all-time great, Michael Jordan. However, the 22-year-old is not a huge fan of these comparisons being made.

The recent similarities to Michael Jordan have surfaced as a result of old highlight footage that has been making the rounds on social media along with people who once covered and observed MJ recalling his style. However, Edwards quickly dismissed all these comparisons when he was asked about it recently.

I want it to stop. He's the greatest of all time. I can't be compared to him. Speaking to FOX Sports, Anthony Edwards said

Although Edwards wants these comparisons to stop, his performances on the court this season have made him a stand-out performer in the NBA. It seems hard for the NBA community to stop these comparisons being made with MJ.

Fans and experts have left an incredible amount of remarks lately. Also, while some want the comparison to end, Anthony Edwards deserves every praise that he is receiving and now needs to guide his team to an NBA title. His recent performances in the NBA playoffs send out a clear message to the NBA community that he is willing to go all out to achieve glory for his team, the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Edwards is one of the most talented youngsters in the league and has a huge ceiling above him. It remains to be seen how Edwards and his side, the Minnesota Timberwolves perform in the remainder of the series against the Denver Nuggets.

Anthony Edwards breached the late Kobe Bryant’s achievement despite being compared to Michael Jordan

The NBA community and fans all around the world usually compare the Ant-Man with the NBA great, Michael Jordan. However, there is a long time for Edwards to match his legacy or even get closer to it. On the contrary, Edwards broke another NBA legend’s achievement, but this time it was the late Kobe Bryant.

Similar to Ant-Man, Kobe Bryant too showed promise as an emerging star and experienced rapid growth in popularity in his early years. He was the only player under 22 to make back-to-back 40-pointers in a playoff game at that moment.

In 2001, he scored 48 and 45 points in a game against the Sacramento Kings. Edwards, who scored 43 points in game 1 against the Denver Nuggets and dropped 40 points against the Suns in Game 4, joined his name on the elite list.
